Kids Helping Kids
The mission of Kids Helping Kids is to facilitate the development of leadership skills through youth-led service projects. KHK gives students a voice, the tools to believe in themselves, and a path to take their power to positively impact others! Empowering kids to turn empathy into action by designing and implementing service projects that benefit other children in the community. All of their projects are created, planned, and led by young individuals. They provide meaningful and enriching experiences, foster personal connections, help our youth develop critical 21st-century skills, and fill a need for kids throughout the community. Kids Helping Kids is led by Executive Director Robert “Bob” Eslick, founded by his two sons Robert AJ. Eslick and Philip M. Eslick in 1998. Their KHK “Making a Warmth of Difference” Winter Apparel Program gives the “Gift of Warmth” for both children and families most in need throughout Long Island and the New York City Metro area via the distribution of donated winter coats, fleece, hats, gloves and other winter related apparel now distributing over $10.5 million since inception of the program. The Twentieth Annual KHK Gala themed “Memories-A Night to Remember” honored an extraordinary boy named Tristan Brennan and a Special Military Honoree Lieutenant Colonel Paul LoBalbo, who continues to protect our freedom.
We at the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences applaud this mission to engage youth in philanthropy and teach them the value of helping others especially “kids most in need”! AAHS is thankful and takes pride to be affiliated in such a heartfelt benefit and organization…Kindness should be encouraged and spread throughout the world, Thank you Bob and family for making a difference.
