The Sir Royston Hopkin Foundation (SRHF) is a charitable organization that supports communities. The foundation was established in memory of Sir Royston Hopkin, a renowned Caribbean hotelier and philanthropist. Sir Royston was the first Grenadian to be elected president of the Grenada Hotel Association, A leader in the Caribbean hospitality and tourism industry, A philanthropist who supported causes and volunteered his time and money. Sir Royston awarded scholarships, visited children’s hospitals, and brought economic relief and holiday cheer to communities.
Sir Royston, the only Caribbean hotelier ever knighted by the Queen of England, had an extensive and distinguished career in the hospitality and tourism industry spanning more than 55 years of contributions to his home country, Grenada, and the entire Caribbean region. Sir Royston is one of the most decorated and honored hoteliers throughout the Caribbean. He was known not only for his work in developing tourism in Grenada, but in helping grow tourism all across the Caribbean region as he worked as a volunteer on the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) and along with the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) officials to help hoteliers and destinations develop their individual products.
What distinguished Sir Royston was his deep-seated commitment to the Caribbean, its people and its potential. He passionately argued for greater involvement and investment by the people of the region in the tourism sector and for the sector to reflect and express the values and cultural integrity of our region.
The SRHF continues to carry on Sir Royston’s legacy of giving back to the Caribbean community.
