2009 Yankees Stadium Six-Star Presentation
THE BIG STORY… DIAMONDS SHINE IN THE BRONX
Hall of Fame outfielder and AAHS Trustee Dave Winfield was at Yankee Stadium as part of a pregame ceremony in which the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences honored Yankee Stadium and “Legends Hospitality”.
Winfield and AAHS President Joseph Cinque, presented the international Star Diamond Award to Yankees Vice President of Stadium operations Doug Behar and Yankees Senior Vice President of strategic ventures and Legends Hospitality COO Marty Greenspun.
Furthermore the Academy bestowed three Six-Star Diamond Crystal Awards to the Steinbrenner Family for creating the Greatest Stadium for the Greatest Fans, Joe Girardi for being an exceptional leader and manager, and Mariano Rivera for being the all-time greatest relief pitcher for the NY Yankees.
