Castello di Fighine is an imposing 11th century castle remodeled into a private home over the past 15 years. A two minute walk from the Castle brings you to the restaurant. Sitting 650 meters above sea level, the Castle is worth a visit even for its panoramic views over Southern Tuscany alone. Managed by Heinz Beck with Gianluca Renzi as head chef, the restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and features home-made Tuscan pasta with locally sourced ingredients.
Inside the restaurant is handsomely furnished., but outside under the large wisteria covered pergola is a most beautiful place to sit and enjoy either a simple plate of fresh pasta or a gourmet/tasting menu. The wine list features a number of the spectacular Super Tuscan wines beside the many locally produced wines of excellent quality.
Atmosphere
Situated 650m above sea level the restaurant offers panoramic views over Southern Tuscany from its rose and wisteria covered terraces. It is a most beautiful place to sit and enjoy a cocktail, a simple plate of fresh pasta or a gourmet/tasting menu.
Cuisine
The kitchen is inspired by the Tuscan tradition which is expressed by the chef’s creativity and vision of modern cuisine.His dishes are distinctively balanced with clear and clean tastes that do not overlap each other. The menu has proposals of mostly meat dishes and a number of fish and vegetarian options.
Chef
The owners have entrusted the management of the restaurant to Chef Heinz Beck, the famous Executive Chef of the three Michelin starred Pergola Restaurant in Rome. With a firm hand on a high level of quality and the maintenance of the Michelin star, the chosen resident chef is Antonio Romano who started running the kitchen since the summer of 2020.
