The Peninsula Hotel
The Peninsula is one of the oldest hotels in all of Hong Kong and when it first opened its doors in 1928, it was referred to as the ‘finest hotel east of the Suez’. Setting foot in The Peninsula was like walking into a different world; the hotel’s entrance was lined with Ferraris and Rolls Royces, while inside shops like Prada, Hermès, and Cartier showed off their latest collections in their sparkling window displays. The Peninsula Hong Kong offers luxury transportation options, from a fleet of fourteen Rolls-Royce limousines to a customized helicopter, providing the ultimate in speed and style for our guests.
Rooms
The Peninsula was revamped in 2013. Still-classic rooms combine warm brown woods and soft leather with techy complements—touch-screen tablets and bedside tablet devices that sync up lights, TVs, room service and free long distance VOIP calls, for instance. The entry-level Deluxe Courtyard Rooms face the courtyard, but we’d recommend upgrading to a Grand Deluxe Harbour View.
Location
Overlooking Victoria Harbor, this regal hotel, built in 1928, is a 5-minute walk from the Avenue of Stars waterfront promenade and 3 minutes’ walk from the Hong Kong Space Museum. Polished suites have separate living areas and walk-in closets, while lavish, upgraded suites add bathtubs and fireplaces; some include use of a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce.
